The Red Fox - F5 style hand-carved, satin finish, sapelle back & sides
This latest F5-style mandolin is gorgeous to look at, and has a beautiful well-rounded tone with a lot of projection. That's the sapele-wood talking. It has the sultry tones of African Mahogany, with the highs of a flamed maple. It's really the best of both worlds: a bright-sounding mandolin perfect for bluegrass, with the warm, deeper sound required for Celtic or Classical music. It's really perfect
"I just love the tone of this instrument. I play mostly Celtic music and so I want something with a sweet gentle tone, not a big brassy "barky" sound. " ~ Deb N., South Hadley MA
